Father’s Day is a time to get together with the family in honor of Dad. But for Brian Silk from Sayre, Oklahoma, being able to spend time with the family is a regular occurrence. As a third generation farmer, Brian has spent much of his life working in the fields, and knows what it’s like to be both a farmer and a father.

In honor of Healthy Kids Day, registered dietitian Theresa Dvorak, MS, CD, CSSD, ATC, is sharing some tips for child nutrition and health. Theresa works with young people and elite-level athletes to reach their top performance and to gain valuable healthy lifestyle skills. She teaches nutrition at the University of Utah and leads BEST Youth and Adult Sport Nutrition workshops at Intermountain’s The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital (TOSH) in Murray, Utah. In the hands-on Athletes’ Kitchen at TOSH, Theresa’s youth workshops often include topics such as making homemade sport drink, travel packs, or recovery smoothies.
