Some of us go absolutely nuts during the holiday season. There’s so much to do, so much to stress about and who has time to eat healthy anyway? That’s just the problem. The holiday season brings us so many amazing events and parties and other reasons to celebrate that we become overwhelmed in creating healthy snacks as the host/hostess.
Peanuts are simply the perfect ingredient for a versatile and nutritious appetizer. From the impressive protein amount per serving to the nutrients, including antioxidants and good fats, peanuts are a smart choice. Out of all nuts, they’re also the best on your holiday shopping budget.
Whip up a batch of these holiday peanuts to keep in your purse while shopping for gifts, or on your counter for unexpected guests.
Holiday Paprika Seasoned Peanuts:
15 ounces peanuts
1 T Canola oil
2 t Salt
1 T Sugar
1 T Cinnamon
1 T Paprika
Add canola oil to a large wok or saucepan. Pour in shelled peanuts, and stir to coat over low medium heat. Stir continuously to avoid burning. Add spices to the peanuts and toss to coat. Spread spiced peanuts onto a baking sheet at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes, or until toasted and baked.
