Peanuts: Energy for the Good Grades

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but summer is at least half-over for most of us and that only means one thing: it’s almost time to go back to school! In Atlanta and many other places, the school buses are already rolling so here’s some advice to get you back in the grind.

Waking up earlier means you need energy to last throughout the day, so what better way to enjoy fueling your body than with peanut butter on toast or a bagel? Peanuts pack a protein punch sure to keep you on your A-game all day long!

During lunchtime and after-school snacking, try using peanut butter in creative ways. Variations of the PB sandwich are a great midday meal for lunchboxes and conversation starters: try grilled cheese and peanut butter; Elvis’ famed peanut butter, bacon and banana; or the Peanut Butter Monstwich with BBQ sauce! Peanut butter is also a delicious dip for carrots, celery sticks, pretzels and more—you may be surprised at the combinations you’ll enjoy!

Lastly, we’re sorry summer is almost over—believe me, we’re not happy about it either—and the only assignment you’ll get from us is to remember to eat your peanuts. So don’t only strive to be book smart; peanuts can help you eat smarter too.
