ATLANTA, GA (November 25, 2024) – The National Peanut Board (NPB) will hold its tri-annual board meeting in conjunction with the American Peanut Council’s (APC) Winter Conference from December 9–11, 2024, at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta. The event will gather peanut industry leaders, including peanut growers, researchers, and industry stakeholders, to address key initiatives in domestic and international promotions, research, finance, and grower communications.
The agenda includes committee meetings focused on domestic promotions, export and international trade, budget and finance, evaluation and measurement, and grower and industry communications. Highlights of the event include the celebration of outgoing Chairman Greg Baltz, strategic updates on promotional and research efforts, and discussions shaping the future of the U.S. peanut industry.
Key agenda highlights include:
General Session:
· Opening remarks and reports from NPB Chair Greg Baltz, NPB President, and USDA-AMS, along with a review of the Board’s mission to support U.S. peanut farmers through promotion and research.
Committee Meetings:
· Domestic Promotions Committee chaired by Casey Cox Kerr
· Export and International Trade Committee chaired by Jeff Roper
· Budget and Finance Committee chaired by Neal Baxley
· Evaluation and Measurement Committee chaired by Mark DeLeon
· Grower & Industry Communications Committee chaired by Lonnie Fortner
Women in Peanut Leadership Luncheon- Hosted by APC & sponsored by the Georgia Peanut Commision:
· A concurrent event recognizing and fostering leadership among women in the peanut industry.
The meetings will conclude with a final general session, including committee reports, voting, and discussions on new business.
