The National Peanut Board participated in the 2025 National Black Growers Council Annual Meeting, held December 9–12, 2025 under the theme Cultivating Connections, Strengthening Legacies. As a conference sponsor, NPB joined growers, industry partners, and agricultural leaders for several days of learning, networking, and dialogue focused on resilience, innovation, and long-term sustainability in agriculture.
Representing NPB, Ashton Pellom and Maria Mehok connected with attendees at the NPB exhibit booth and participated in informative sessions throughout the week. The meeting featured interactive workshops and general sessions covering farm finances, heirs property, mental health, policy and forecasting, soil health, diversification strategies, and year-end financial planning. These conversations reinforced the importance of practical tools and community support for growers navigating an evolving agricultural landscape.
The conference also provided meaningful opportunities to build relationships with growers and partners while gaining insights into the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of farming. NPB values its continued engagement with the National Black Growers Council and remains committed to supporting growers through education, collaboration, and industry connection.
