The 58th Annual American Peanut Research & Education Society (APRES) meeting brought together researchers, industry leaders and students in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to share the latest advancements in peanut research and production. Representing the National Peanut Board (NPB), Research Chair Cliff Neece and Research Director DeMarquiné Houston joined discussions focused on identifying emerging challenges, advancing scientific collaboration and translating research into practical solutions for U.S. peanut growers.
One of the meeting’s highlights was the Grower Session, which featured research with direct, on-farm applications. Presentations explored crop rotation strategies, adjuvant and agrichemical mixtures, fertilizer management, planter optimization and the development of new peanut cultivars. Together, these projects highlighted research aimed at improving productivity, efficiency and long-term sustainability across the peanut industry.
